Become a Patron
Library cards for Whiting Library are free to all residents of the towns of Chester and Andover, Vermont. Non-residents may obtain a card at the Whiting Library by paying an annual fee of $35.00. You can pay through cash, check, or PayPal.
A Whiting Library card can save you hundreds of dollars and provide:
* Access to books, films, and other media to borrow and take home;
* Access to our Library of Things;
* Databases: Access to online databases;
* Classes: Access to free online classes;
* Passes: Access to free or discounted passes to museums, historical, and cultural sites;
* Chromebooks: Laptops to borrow for at-home use;
* Access to movies and TV shows to stream for free.
To obtain a nonresident card, please visit the library, call 1-802-875-2277, email AssistantLibrarian@WhitingLibrary.org, with the subject “Whiting Library Nonresident Membership.”
We will need the following information to sign you up for either resident or nonresident cards:

- Phone Number (home and cell, or whichever we are likely to reach you at):
- Email Address:
- Would you like to sign up for the Whiting Library monthly e-newsletter?:
- Youth services e-newsletter?:
- We will also need proof of residency in Chester/Andover. This could be your driver’s license or mail with your current address.
- Children under the age of 12 will need a parent or guardian with them when the card is picked up to sign the application.
You can come to the library and complete an application card in person during library hours Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please bring your proof of residency with you when you come. Children under the age of 12 also need a parent or caregiver with them to sign the application.
