SUMMARY:The Nature Museum - Summer Unplugged
DESCRIPTION:Righteous Reptiles and Awesome Amphibians \nNorthern New England is home to many special reptiles and amphibians. But\, how do you tell them apart? Did you know that some frogs freeze for the winter while some turtles stop “breathing”? Come explore how these cold-blooded creatures survive year-round\, and explore hands-on biofacts (snake skins\, turtle shells\, and more)! Get ready to settle in for a story reading\, and expand your love for our amphibian and reptilian neighbors! \nThanks to the generous support from Great River Hydro\, The Nature Museum is excited to once again bring free environmental education programming to Whiting Library and the Bellows Falls Fish Ladder and Visitor Center during the summer of 2023. \nThese programs aim to be engaging and highlight topics related to the unique ecology and landscape of Northern New England. These programs are geared towards youth ages Pre-K through elementary grades\, but all are welcome! Programs will be 45 minutes long with dedicated time for a story reading and any nature related questions you may have for our expert educators. Library programs will be outdoors on good weather days and indoors on bad weather days. Join us to unplug\, discover\, and learn! \nThe Nature Museum is a regional resource for nature\, science\, and environmental education in the Vermont and New Hampshire communities of the Connecticut River Valley. The Museum provides information and experiences that engage and enlighten our audiences and inspire stewardship of the natural world.
