DESCRIPTION:Library Update\nThe Community Room\, Vermont Room\, and Book Sale Room are closed for building repairs. We’ll let you know when the downstairs reopens. The main floor is open with books\, games\, toys\, and take-n-make crafts. Don’t forget your digital library is open 24/7 through the Libby app (use your library card + PIN = last name\, first letter capitalized). Ask us for more info. \nNovember Programs\nPlaygroup & Story Time will meet in the backyard on clear days —dress in layers and get ready to shake\, rattle & roll! Otherwise these groups will meet indoors on the main floor of the library while the Community Room is closed due to construction. \nEveryone learns best through play! Contact our Youth Librarian\, for more information via youthlibrarian@whitinglibrary.org or call 802-875-2277. \nYou’re encouraged to arrive between 10:00–10:15 AM to give little ones time to get settled. We’ll begin with about 10-15 minutes of songs\, poems and stories\, followed by free play and art activities designed to support early learning. \nStory Time is essential for building literacy skills—it fosters language development\, imagination\, and social-emotional growth. The program wraps up at 11:00 AM. \nIf the weather is nice\, we may be outside in the backyard. \nPreregistration is appreciated but not required—drop-ins are always welcome! DESCRIPTION:Space is Limited! The Community Room is closed due to construction. Please join the group on the main floor in the Junior Fiction Room. Join us for an hour of hands-on building fun on Wednesday\, Nov. 12 from 3–4 PM; RSVP at 802-875-2277! And don’t forget—you don’t have to wait for program days to build. Anytime you come to the library\, I’ll be happy to show you our big boxrs of LEGOs and a comfy spot to build your masterpiece. It’s also a great place to meet up with friends after school and get creative together! \nYoung builders can let their imaginations soar in a relaxed and playful environment. Kids are free to create whatever they dream up. Completed creations are proudly displayed in the library’s Youth Room for the entire month\, with a “Builder’s Card” showcasing the name of their creation and their name. \nThis program isn’t just about building with LEGOs—it’s about building skills! Play is a powerful tool for developing early literacy and motor skills. Through constructing\, designing\, and storytelling about their creations\, kids practice problem-solving\, spatial reasoning\, and expressive language—all critical for literacy development. \nFor younger siblings\, a selection of DUPLO building blocks is available\, ensuring the whole family can participate and enjoy stress-free fun. \nJoin the fun! \nThe four rules of Lego Club are: \n\nRespect the space.–No running around\, just sit and work on your piece.\nRespect others.–That means everyone has to share and help each other out.  Teamwork makes the dream work.\nRespect yourself.–Stay positive.  We don’t compete with or put down other club members; we build just for fun.\nRespect the Legos.–We don’t throw the Legos.  We don’t eat the Legos.  We don’t shove the Legos up our nose.  We don’t shove the Legos up our friend’s nose.  And the Legos have to stay in the library at the end of the day.\n\n
