SUMMARY:FULL: Play\, Connect\, and Learn: A Family Place Immersion Experience
DESCRIPTION:The 4/14/26 playgroup is full. Thank you for reserving your spot in advance.\nPlaygroup Update at Whiting Library\, Reserve Your Spot Here\, The number of  participants will be limited in order to provide a higher quality of experience.  \nPlay\, Connect\, and Learn: A Family Place Immersion Experience\n With Cara Tyrrell | Week of the Young Child Special Program \nJoin us for a 90-minute interactive\, play-based learning experience designed especially for families with infants and toddlers. \nThis special session will be facilitated by Cara Tyrrell\, a Chester-based early childhood teacher trainer\, author\, and parent educator. Instead of a traditional author talk\, this experience takes place right in our Family Place play environment—where learning happens through play\, connection\, and real-life moments. \nDrawing from her new book\, Talk to Them Early and Often: A Caregiver’s Guide to Intentional Language Development for Infants and Toddlers\, Cara will guide caregivers through simple\, powerful ways to support their child’s development through everyday language. \nWhat to expect: \n\nLive modeling of intentional language during play\nOpportunities to practice with your child in real time\nGentle coaching and reflection throughout the session\nA free copy of the book to take home\n\nYou’ll learn: \n\nWhy language plays a key role in brain development and emotional regulation\nWhat intentional language sounds like in everyday moments\nHow to adapt your words to your child’s temperament\nHow to stay connected—even during challenging moments\n\nBonus Follow-Up Session:\nJoin us again on Saturday\, May 9 at 10AM for a relaxed author chat with Cara\, where you can ask questions and get support as you begin using these strategies at home. \nThis two-part experience is designed to be practical\, supportive\, and immediately useful for families. \nWOYC Flyer Chester \nOur Tuesday Morning Playgroup has grown into something truly special\, and I’m so grateful to see so many families connecting\, playing\, and learning together. It’s been wonderful to watch this community grow! \nWith that growth\, we’ve reached a point where a few changes will help keep playgroup a calm\, safe\, and engaging experience for everyone—especially our youngest participants. \nWhen playgroup resumes in April\, here’s what to expect: \n\nAttendance will be limited to 6 adults (with their children) per session\nAdvance sign-up will be required to help families plan ahead. RSVP here!\nDrop-ins may be welcomed only if space allows.\nPlaygroup is designed with children ages 0–3 in mind\n\nWe’ll prioritize reservations for families with children ages 3 and under.\nIf space allows\, families with older children are always welcome to join.\n\n\n\n\nThese adjustments will help create a more relaxed environment where little ones can explore\, play\, and build early literacy skills at their own pace. \nThank you for your understanding and for being such an important part of this growing playgroup community. SUMMARY:Virtual Author Talks: On Writing Action-Packed and Suspenseful Spycraft with Brad Taylor
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER FOR LIVE EVENT HERE: https://libraryc.org/whitinglibrary/146207/register \nWATCH RECORDING AFTER EVENT HERE: https://libraryc.org/whitinglibrary/archive \n  \nJoin us online April 14th at 7 PM for a conversation with acclaimed author Brad Taylor on his latest work\, Shadow Strike\, book 20 (yes\, you read that right!) of the bestselling Pike Logan series. \nAfter its proxies are devastated and its offensive capability pummeled in the latest war in the Middle East\, a rogue group of Iranian regime officials create a brazen plot to strike back at their hated enemies once and for all. They envision a series of operational dominos culminating in a devastating attack\, and the first step is the assassination of the Israeli prime minister.  And there’s only one assassin with the skills to pull it off: Abdul Rahman\, known in the shadows as the Ghost. \nWhen a routine prison transfer is ambushed\, the Ghost escapes and is given the assignment. The only Operator who can hunt him down is the man who stopped him before: Pike Logan. \nPike and his team soon learn that the mission involves something bigger than just the escape of his old enemy. Working with Mossad agents\, the pursuit leads the Taskforce to Argentina. They work to unravel the scope of the attack\, and the chase leads them through the tempestuous waterfalls of Iguazu and the Triple Frontier\, to the vibrant streets of Buenos Aires\, and the tiny village of Ushuaia at the “End of the World.” \nAs the team races against the clock\, Pike learns the stakes are much greater than a single life – the consequences extend into the heartland of America itself. The Ghost may hold the key to an escalation that will upend the worldwide balance of power\, and if Pike fails\, the fallout won’t just be personal – it’ll be global. \nRegister today to learn why the Pike Logan series has everyone buzzing! \nAbout the Author: Brad Taylor is the author of the New York Times bestselling Pike Logan series. He served for more than twenty years in the U.S. Army\, including eight years in 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta\, commonly known as Delta Force. He retired as a Special Forces lieutenant colonel and now lives in Charleston\, South Carolina.
