SUMMARY:The Nature Museum Summer Unplugged Series
DESCRIPTION:Who’s Eating What at Nature’s Dinner Table?\nCarnivore\, herbivore\, omnivore\, detritivore. These are the names that scientists use to describe different kinds of eaters in the natural world. What does a fox eat? How about a deer? What about a skunk? What kind of eater is a human? Come learn about the many different kinds of eaters\, what their dinner looks like\, and how they go about finding food and eating it too. Participants will get to take a look at animal skulls\, pictures\, and other cool bio-facts to learn about how and why animals eat what they do! \nJoin us for our FREE summer programming to learn about our local ecology. The Nature Museum is excited to once again bring free environmental education programming to the Whiting Library in Chester during the summer of 2024. \nPrograms run on Wednesdays at 1pm for seven weeks\, from June 26th to August 7th. \nThese programs aim to be engaging and highlight topics related to the unique ecology and landscape of Northern New England. Geared towards youth ages Pre-K through elementary grades\, all are welcome. Programs will be 45 minutes long with dedicated time for a story reading and any nature-related questions you may have for our expert educators. Library programs will be mostly outdoors on good weather days and indoors on bad weather days. Join us to unplug\, discover\, and learn! \nThe Nature Museum is a regional resource for nature\, science\, and environmental education in the Vermont and New Hampshire communities of the Connecticut River Valley. The Museum provides information and experiences that engage and enlighten our audiences and inspire stewardship of the natural world. Thanks to the generous support from Great River Hydro\, The Nature Museum is excited to once again bring free environmental education programming to public libraries throughout the Middle Connecticut River Valley and the Bellows Falls Fish Ladder and Visitor Center during the summer.
