DESCRIPTION:Kids looking for a fun opportunity to dive into the wonderful world of Pokémon are in for a treat. With this group\, students can enjoy the camaraderie and educational opportunities in-person at Whiting Library. But this is also a perfect opportunity to let the learners be the teachers\, and believe me\, Pokémon players will love to bring adults and fellow students into the game. The group is child-led and guided by an adult volunteer. \nAfter School Pokémon Club will meet once per month for an hour. Participating students have access to tools to learn how to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game\, and other fun activities and resources. Students should not bring Pokémon Trading Cards that are valuable or ones that they are not willing to lose in a trade. \nGames are an essential component of the library. Information presented in new formats\, that encourage critical thinking and problem solving\, and games that encourage social interaction among peers are just a few of the reasons to consider joining the Whiting Library After School Pokémon Club.

DESCRIPTION:Whiting Library is home to a weekly playgroup for the Wee Littles (0-5 years old) and their caregivers on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. This is a free\, fun\, and relaxed gathering where little kids play while their grown-ups supervise and socialize. \nYou don’t need to pre-register; you can just drop into the library Community Room. Stay as long or as little as you like. Our playtime is geared towards caregivers who want to find friendships and build connections with their children and in the greater wee little people (0-5 years old) community. \nFun & games\, plus art & craft projects in the community room downstairs – available to enjoy when the Community Room is not booked for other events! \nEveryone learns best through play! DESCRIPTION:Kids looking for a fun opportunity to dive into the wonderful world of Pokémon are in for a treat. With this group\, students can enjoy the camaraderie and educational opportunities in-person at Whiting Library. But this is also a perfect opportunity to let the learners be the teachers\, and believe me\, Pokémon players will love to bring adults and fellow students into the game. \nAfter School Pokémon Club will meet once per month for an hour. Participating students have access to tools to learn how to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game\, and other fun activities and resources. Students should not bring Pokémon Trading Cards that are valuable or ones that they are not willing to lose in a trade. \nGames are an essential component of the library. SUMMARY:Saxtons River Art Guild Exhibit Opening
DESCRIPTION:Saxtons River Art Guild members will exhibit their work at Whiting Library from Friday\, January 12\, to Friday\, February 1\, 2024. In case of snowy weather\, this exhibit opening will take place on Saturday\, January 20. \nHere are a few highlights about some of the presenting artists: John Dimick paints landscapes from various trails in New England and can be seen painting street scenes around Brattleboro on Gallery Walk nights; Kathy Greves paints a variety of subjects\, some plein air and others from photographs she has taken in and around Vermont and during her travels in France\, Italy\, Germany\, and the Bahamas; long time member Donna Lund paints regional landscapes either in watercolor or pastel; Liz Winchester-Larson works primarily in the still-life genre with rich color and intricate detail.
