Celebrate Nature, Art, and Language with Local Author Jonathan Otto at Whiting Library

The Whiting Library is excited to welcome local author and illustrator Jonathan Otto for a special family event on Saturday, October 4th at 10:30 AM in the Community Room. A former Chester resident, Jonathan will read aloud from his beautifully illustrated children’s book, Child of the Wild, which invites readers into the world of animal families through captivating rhymes, science facts, and vivid artwork.

Following the reading, Jonathan will lead a fun and interactive limerick-building game that helps children play with language and rhythm—an important part of early literacy development. Play-based language activities like this build essential skills in reading, writing, and communication.

Guests will also enjoy a mini exhibit of Jonathan’s original illustrations from the book. To make the day extra special, the first 10 families to register will receive a free signed copy of Child of the Wild.

This free event is best suited for children ages 6 and up and their caregivers. Join us for a joyful morning of stories, art, and creativity that brings families together through the power of play and reading.

To register, call 802-875-2277 or email info@whitinglibrary.org
