This April, Whiting Library invites the community to experience the magic of storytelling, creativity, and sustainability through a special eco-friendly art exhibit by local artist Kari Storm.
On display from Saturday, April 4 through Saturday, May 2 (Green Up Day) in the Suzie Forlie Room, Kari’s imaginative 3D cardboard exhibit brings magical scenes inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to life. Visitors of all ages will be surprised and delighted as beloved characters like Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and the White Witch emerge from repurposed materials in this immersive and environmentally conscious display.

As part of this special exhibit, Kari Storm will host a hands-on Earth Day “Makedo” workshop on Wednesday, April 22 from 3:00–4:30 PM, where participants will transform everyday cereal boxes into creative masks and decorations using simple tools. This program celebrates sustainability while encouraging creativity and reuse.
In a generous donation to the library, Kari will also introduce a new Makedo Makers Kit, featuring kid-safe tools and a guide to sustainable 3D art projects, available for the community to explore beginning on Earth Day.

Community members are encouraged to visit throughout the month to be inspired by this unique exhibit and to reserve a spot for the April 22 workshop.
